- סְכוֹםm. (סָכַם; cmp. חֶשְׁבּוֹן) fixed number, amount, sum total. Ex. R. s. 1 הס׳ שלהן their fixed number (daily rate of bricks). Ib. אין אתם משלימין הס׳וכ׳ you will be unable to finish your task. Yalk. Gen. 130 (expl. נקבה, Gen. 30:28) ס׳ קבוע פרוש define a fixed amount (v. סְכַם). Tosef.Bets.III, 7 ס׳ מנין the sum total of the amount of things (received on credit); ס׳ ממכר the total amount of the value of his purchases; Bets.29b ס׳ מדה; ס׳ מקח (v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 5).
